The only major change in Nightreign’s specs is a higher CPU requirement; otherwise, the minimum and recommended requirements are almost identical to Elden Ring.
With the release of the Elden Ring Nightreign PC system requirements, the good news is that if your system worked for Elden Ring, it will likely handle Nightreign without any issues.
Given that Nightreign is essentially Elden Ring with a Fortnite influence, it’s not surprising to see the hardware requirements remain so similar. PC Gamer’s Wes Fenlon put it best in his review, calling it “essentially a standalone expansion” that “plays exactly like Elden Ring.”
At the time of its release, Elden Ring’s system requirements were quite robust, but that was three years ago, and now they’re just middle-of-the-road.
When Shadow of the Erdtree was released in 2024 with the same specs, hardware writer Andy Edser called the minimum requirements “pretty aged” and said that even the recommended hardware seemed like “pretty low-end” by today’s requirements.
Elden Ring Nightreign System Requirements for PC
With Nightreign, the CPU requirement has been slightly increased from Elden Ring’s specs, both for the minimum and recommended levels. I personally played Elden Ring on a below-minimum setup: a Core i5 6600K, 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 3080.
You might be able to stretch things a bit if your GPU and RAM are up to the task. (Just to be clear, don’t take this as a guarantee and then get mad if it doesn’t work out.
Nightreign matches Elden Ring’s RAM and GPU requirements, and the storage needed has been reduced to 30GB, down from the 60GB Elden Ring asked for. I’d guess that most of that is due to the map’s size.
