Marvel Rivals Players Request Ready Check to Combat Griefing

In Short:

  • Marvel Rivals Players Push for “Ready Up” Option to Combat Party Leader Griefing
  • The topic was initially brought to light by Reddit user Gammageeknerd, who described their experience with a party leader who instantly locked in Jeff and intentionally eliminated their own team members
  • Thanks to the game’s rapid matchmaking, the troll would instantly start a new match, leaving no option for team members to exit the party

In Marvel Rivals, teamwork is crucial for success. A team composition of five DPS and one healer will likely lead to disaster, as coordination is key. Even in well-structured teams, a single mistake from one player can result in a defeat.

The emphasis on teamwork in Marvel Rivals makes it easier for griefers to cause trouble, and the game’s limitations in removing toxic players from your party only add to the frustration.

On the Marvel Rivals subreddit, Reddit user Gammageeknerd recently recounted an experience with two trolls who selected Jeff and Loki, making their competitive matches nearly impossible to win.

Marvel Rivals Players Push for “Ready Up” Feature to Prevent Trolling

Beware there’s a new way people are trolling

As it seems, they tend to share how they formed a party using the official Marvel Rivals Discord, a useful way to find teammates for competitive matches if you prefer avoiding random players.

In the opening game, the party leader quickly chose Jeff the Land Shark, using his Ultimate to swallow multiple teammates and then jumping off a cliff, causing the entire team to be wiped out.

In the following round, another player immediately locked in Jeff to counter the previous troll, but the new troll selected Loki, used his Ultimate to turn into Jeff, and proceeded to eliminate the entire team once again.

After the match was inevitably lost, the party leader instantly queued for another game, which was found within seconds due to the game’s fast matchmaking system.

The troll continued their antics by using Jeff to team kill, causing one player to leave and the match to be canceled. Without hesitation, the party leader queued for another match, dragging everyone into another game that also had to be canceled when another player left. In total, the disruptive player managed to ruin three matches.

Others, not necessarily dealing with trolls, are also voicing frustration, as sometimes friends unknowingly initiate the matchmaking process before everyone is ready, leading to the game starting too quickly for anyone to cancel.

Introducing this feature would enhance the gameplay experience, reducing trolling and preventing party leaders from having excessive control.
