Pragmata: Not-E3 is underway, and PlayStation is the first out of the gate. With major events like Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Showcase on the horizon, Sony has kicked off the week with flair.

Pragmata made a return during Capcom and Sony’s 40-minute event, with the game now scheduled for a 2026 release.

Sony Showcases Fresh Pragmata Trailer at June 2025 State of Play

Pragmata was first revealed back in 2020, then hit with an indefinite delay in 2023, and has stayed under the radar, until now.

It finally resurfaced during the PlayStation State of Play, appearing alongside other once-hyped titles like Ghostwire: Tokyo, Kena, and Returnal. This is the first footage we’ve seen since its reveal window.

We see the main character, wearing a damaged spacesuit, meeting a mysterious young blonde girl, suggesting a classic emotional pairing in the vein of The Last of Us or Death Stranding.

Set in a futuristic universe, the title features our hero battling malfunctioning AI using advanced weaponry, including giant mechs, laser blades, and high-powered sci-fi guns, all in outer space.

At the trailer’s conclusion, Capcom humorously acknowledged the game’s multiple delays by crossing out 2022 and 2023, then proudly declaring, “It’s real,” alongside a 2026 release date.

Capcom’s Pragmata marks its first fresh IP release following 2024’s Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and stands as only the third new property from the studio since the early 2000s, with Exoprimal being the other. Throughout this period, Capcom has excelled, driven by hits like Dragon’s Dogma, Resident Evil, and Monster Hunter.

More About Pragmata

Taking place on the moon in the near future, PRAGMATA follows spacefarer Hugh and android Diana after a chance meeting aboard a seemingly abandoned research station.

With a hostile AI controlling the station and enemies everywhere, their only hope for survival is to stick together.

In their quest to reach Earth, Hugh and Diana each bring unique abilities to overcome challenges. Players will take control of both characters at once in this single-player game. Hacking stands at the center of the action, adding strategy and excitement to combat.
