In Short:
- Disney Lorcana Reveals “Fabled,” Its Fairy Tale-Inspired Third Set Coming in 2025, After Archazia’s Island and Reign of Jafar
- Reign of Jafar will be released on June 6, with Jafar taking the role of the main antagonist in Lorcana’s narrative
- The Fabled set, showcasing Mickey and Minnie in traditional fairytale costumes, is slated for release in the third quarter of 2025
Along with confirming the release dates for its second set of the year, Disney Lorcana has revealed that its third 2025 set will be centered around a fairytale theme.
After Archazia’s Island arrives in March, Disney Lorcana’s next major set, Reign of Jafar, will debut in June, continuing the series’ focus on iconic villains with its second villain-centric expansion following Ursula’s Return.
During the London Toy Fair, Ravensburger showcased the full range of products and artwork for their next expansion, Archazia’s Island. In addition to Bolt’s major presence in the set, the packaging also features characters like Mirabel Madrigal and The Mad Hatter.
The new art released with the Archazia’s Island set offers an exciting glimpse of Archazia, accompanied by a host of beloved characters, including the 101 Dalmatians, Bucky, Alice, Yao, Ling, Chien Po, Mushu, Mulan, Belle, and The Beast—truly showcasing the vibrant and eclectic world of Lorcana.
The Archazia’s Island expansion also introduced two starter decks: an Amethyst/Emerald deck featuring Iago and Jafar, and a Ruby/Sapphire deck with Belle and The Beast. It’s refreshing to see the decks creating thematic connections between their respective face cards this time around.

Upcoming Releases: Fabled & Reign of Jafar
The spotlight was on the two upcoming sets following Archazia’s Island. The first is Reign of Jafar, set to launch on June 6. In this expansion, Jafar has taken control of Archazia’s Island, presenting what Ravensburger describes as the “greatest threat Lorcana has faced.
It seems that Reign of Jafar will serve as this year’s major narrative event, much like how Ursula’s Return focused on a battle with Ursula last year.
Although it’s not yet confirmed, there’s a good chance we might see an expansion for the popular Illumineer’s Challenge cooperative format that debuted in Ursula’s Return.
The upcoming third set for 2025, Fabled, has been unveiled, but specifics are still limited. Set for a Q3 release, the set will showcase Mickey and Minnie in classic prince and princess attire. Early artwork suggests a strong fairy tale influence for this expansion.
Fabled draws some parallels to Magic: The Gathering’s Eldraine. Both are built around fairy tale themes and act as a refreshing shift after major narrative arcs—War of the Spark in Magic and Reign of Jafar in Lorcana.
While it’s uncertain if Fabled will dive into its source material as deeply as Eldraine did, it promises to be a captivating release nonetheless.
