Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Ending Faces Major Backlash from Players

In Short:

  • Poor Reviews, Low Sales, and Fan Disapproval Lead to the Discontinuation of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
  • Many players were left disappointed as the game’s ending completely redefined its core premise
  • The ending received backlash for being poorly executed and rushed, though some fans acknowledged the challenges faced by the development team

It all happened yesterday when Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was finally discontinued. With mixed reviews, a tepid fan response, and disappointing sales, the game came to an end and was taken offline.

Just before the game’s closure, Rocksteady made one last move that upset fans by changing the core premise with the ending. This decision, unsurprisingly, has been widely criticized.

It’s the Most Unsatisfying & Lackluster Ending

Most Disappointing Ending

The premise of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is evident right from its title. With the world at risk, the Suicide Squad is given the daunting task of taking down the Justice League, including figures such as Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Batman.

Early in the game, it seems the team achieves this goal, or at least that’s the impression players are left with.

The ending of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League uncovers that the Justice League members the squad had taken down were actually just clones. The original heroes make their return in a short, comic-book-like cutscene to help defeat the main antagonist.

Unsurprisingly, the ending has not gone over well with the game’s players. Since its release, multiple threads have been posted on the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League subreddit, with fans lamenting the outcome.

In one of the threads, Reddit user Old_Snack remarked, “The ending comes across as rushed and low-quality, but it’s sadly what I anticipated. Given how much money the game was losing, they probably threw it together.”

This sentiment was shared by many players, with Pyrotails adding, “It feels like this was thrown together in a week, not an ending that was planned from the beginning. It makes you wonder how the game might have ended in an alternate universe where it succeeded.”

Some players were understanding of the development team’s difficulties, but others were much harsher. “I enjoyed the game, but this is the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” one user said, while another remarked, “Even for a retcon, this is shockingly half-hearted.” A third user commented, “Why are people surprised? Of course Rocksteady messed up the ending.”
